outings and Activities
Recent activities
Once a month an outing of some kind is arranged by
our very active Tours and Outings Team.
The outings are either half day visits or full day tours
or bus trips, and are varied in nature to cover as many
interests as possible. Our outings are held on different
days of the week so as not to exclude members who
have commitments on particular days of the week.

Some trips we have enjoyed recently include visits to
the Mathema Museum, Dayboro, Brisbane Motor
Museum, Brisbane Maritime Museum, a trip by boat to
explore St Helena Island, guided tours of Archerfield
Airfield and God's Little Acre Cemetery, Newstead
House, Government House and a City Lights CityCat
tour to view the lights of Brisbane.

From time to time there is the opportunity to participate in longer trips. Members have enjoyed week long trips to the Canberra Floriade and the Southern Highlands, as well as trips to Stanthorpe/Tenterfield, Lightning Ridge and Yamba/ Dorrigo. Future trips are planned to the New England Tableland in Autumn, and to the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and Newcastle.

SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS
We have a number of special interest groups which meet regularly.

Our monthly meetings are followed by lunch at a nearby cafe or restaurant, and we always have a festive Christmas lunch in December. In addition, our regular
outings generally include morning tea or lunch at a suitable time during the outing.
The Photography Club meets regularly. This is a
shared activity with other Probus clubs in the
western suburbs. Annual photographic competitions
are held.

The Mahjong Group meets monthly to hone their skills and to enjoy some relaxation with friends. Beginner players are very welcome.

We have some keen bush walkers who tackle a different track every month,
always finishing with a coffee and chat. Or if you prefer a more gentle walk in air conditioned comfort the Coffee and Chat group is for you. You can even meet up just for coffee if you don't feel like walking that day!

Regular Golf Days are organised with players competing for our coveted Perpetual Trophy. Or if you're not a golfer but like a bit of fun, join the enthusiastic group of putt putt golfers who tackle the mini golf course with gusto, if not with any actual skill!

A number of theatre events are organised throughout
the year to see musicals, plays or special events. In
addition there are always "Pop Ups" available, which
are events, shows, performances, movies etc that
members advertise.

A well-stocked Book Exchange provides a variety of books and jigsaw puzzles for the enjoyment of members.

A movie interest group meets each month, usually late afternoon on the third Tuesday, visiting local cinemas for a "big screen" experience. The movie is usually followed by a casual meal together.
Members with an interest in a particular field are welcome to form new interest groups. Assistance is given in the organisation of new groups.
