Probus clubs exist to provide a social forum for like-minded retirees in your local community. They are not fundraising organisations.
Probus clubs provide the opportunity to meet with
fellow retirees on a regular basis, to maintain healthy
minds and active bodies through social interaction and activities, to expand interests and to enjoy the fellowship of new friends.
There are over 140 Probus Clubs in Queensland, and more than 1700 clubs throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Indooroopilly Probus Club?
The Probus Club of Indooroopilly was formed in early 2014, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Brisbane Planetarium. We have over 90 members with a balance of men and women, who meet on the first Tuesday of each month at
Boulevard Gardens, 284 Witton Road, Indooroopilly
at 9.30am for a 10am start.
There is ample parking in the venue's car park and in
the surrounding streets.
Although we meet in the Brisbane suburb of Indooroopilly
many of our members come from other suburbs.
After a thirty minute meeting we break for a delicious morning tea at a cost of $15 per person. Following morning tea we enjoy a presentation from a guest speaker, and the meeting ends by 12 noon.
We aim to cater for all interests so our guest speakers cover a range of topics. Past presenters have included authors, artists, social historians, a paleontologist, a veterinarian, an expert in ikebana, a jeweller, horticulturalists, community service spokespersons, lawyers, medical researchers and an expert on the electricity industry. The presentations are interesting and entertaining, and always include time for questions.
Our monthly meetings are about friendship, fellowship and fun.
Enjoyment is the order of the day!
We have a joining fee of $20, and a yearly membership fee of $45.
If you would like to come to one of our meetings as a guest please contact us first, using the enquiry box on the Contact Us page, as there may be a waiting list or restrictions in numbers due to Covid-19.
